External Pedigree

What is External Pedigree?

An External Pedigree is an image (photograph) uploaded to the TCR database of a pedigree that was compiled from the database of another registry or organization (not the TCR database). An External Pedigree is therefore verified according to the requirements of the registry that made the pedigree.

What is the value of External Pedigree?

Whereas a stallion or mare that is TCR registered (and that is therefore recorded on the TCR database) can be shown on a TCR Pedigree as a parent (Sire or Dam), grandparent, great-grandparent or great-great-grandparent, etc., a stallion or mare that is not TCR registered (and that is therefore not recorded on the TCR database) cannot be shown on a TCR Pedigree as a parent (sire or dam), grandparent, great-grandparent or great-great-grandparents, etc. The value of an External Pedigree (for the Sire Side and/or Dam Side) uploaded to the TCR database is therefore that recorded parents (sires and dams), grandparents, great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents for a TCR registered cob can be viewed on the TCR website even where some or all of its parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents are registered with another registry or organization and not with TCR.

DATA PROTECTION

Please note that an Extended Pedigree which contains a person’s personal information (name and address etc.) should not be uploaded to the TCR database without permission having been given by that person.
