The Piebald

Although coloured horses were historically not held in high regard in Ireland (aka the Republic of Ireland) or in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales), the original Traditional Cob created in Ireland by Irish Travellers (the Irish Cob) was predominantly black and white (piebald), and Irish Travellers therefore simply referred to them as the ‘Piebald’ before the Irish Cob Studbook was officially recognised in Ireland on 18 July 1996.
