Ownership Certificates

At the time you are registering an animal with TCR (completing the animal's online TCR registration application), you can also order a TCR ownership certificate in your name.

New owner

If you sell or gift the animal, you can complete the Current Owner section on the New Owner Declaration on the back of the TCR ownership certificate. The new owner can then (at any time) complete the New Owner section on the New Owner Declaration and order a new TCR ownership certificate in their name.

Online ownership transferring

​If you sell or gift the animal, you should also transfer the animal online from your TCR account to the new owner's TCR account FOR FREE. If the new owner does not have a TCR account, then they will need to 'sign up' for one. After the animal is transferred to a new owner's TCR account, the new owner will then be the TCR-recorded owner of the animal.

Requesting ownership transfer online

If you sell or gift the animal and do not transfer it from your TCR account to the new owner's TCR account, then the new owner can contact TCR (via the TCR website) and request that the animal be transferred into their TCR account (and therefore into their TCR-recorded ownership). However, TCR will charge the new owner an administration fee for transferring the animal into their TCR account.
