Covering Certificates

Take the following steps to get a FREE TCR covering certificate for your TCR-registered stallion:

You will need to sign in to your TCR account to open your Dashboard.
Click on Your Registrations. If you have many animals registered with TCR, you can search for your stallion by entering his TCR-registered name or TCR registration number in the search bar.
Under your stallion's TCR registration images, you will see two tabs: Generate Digital Covering Certificate and Download Covering Certificate.

Generate Digital Covering Certificate

If you click on the Generate Digital Covering Certificate tab, you can generate a TCR digital covering certificate for your stallion, which, when completed, you can share with the mare owner.

Download Covering Certificate

If you click on the Download Covering Certificate tab, you can download and print a TCR paper covering certificate for your stallion, which, when completed, you can give a copy of to the mare owner.

Other registry covering certificates

If a paper covering certificate issued by another registry was completed in respect of your stallion, then that paper covering certificate can be used as pedigree verification instead of a completed TCR digital or paper covering certificate.

After the foal is born

If you generated and completed a TCR digital covering certificate for your stallion, then when the online TCR registration application is being completed for the foal, and the sire and dam (as recorded on the TCR digital covering certificate) are declared on the application, a message will be automatically displayed on the application saying that a TCR digital covering certificate has been generated, which is sufficient pedigree verification. However, in addition to the message automatically saying that a TCR digital covering certificate has been generated, which is sufficient pedigree verification, the application will also provide an option to upload an image of a DNA pedigree verification certificate as your preferred pedigree verification.

If you downloaded and completed a TCR paper covering certificate for your stallion, then when the online TCR registration application is being completed for the foal, and the sire and dam (as recorded on the TCR digital covering certificate) are declared on the application, an image of the completed TCR paper covering certificate will be required to be uploaded, which is sufficient pedigree verification. However, instead of uploading an image of the completed TCR paper covering certificate, an image of a DNA pedigree verification certificate can be uploaded as your preferred pedigree verification.
