Covering Certificates

Take the following steps to get a FREE TCR covering certificate for your TCR-registered stallion:

1. You will need to sign in to your TCR account to open your Dashboard.
2. Click on Your Registrations. If you have many animals registered with TCR, you can search for your stallion by entering his TCR-registered name or TCR registration number in the search bar.
3. Under your stallion's TCR registration images, you will see two tabs: Download Covering Certificate and Generate Covering Certificate. Click the one you want.
    

When you submit the completed covering certificate, it will automatically generate a TCR digital covering certificate for your stallion, which you can share with the mare owner (or anyone else). You will also be able to print your stallion's TCR digital covering certificate.
 

​After the foal is born

​When the online TCR registration application is being completed for the foal, and the sire and dam (the stallion and mare named on the TCR digital covering certificate) are declared on the application, a message will be automatically displayed on the application saying that a TCR digital covering certificate has been generated, which is sufficient pedigree verification.

​Optional DNA pedigree verification

​In addition to a message automatically displayed on the application saying that a TCR digital covering certificate has been provided, which is sufficient pedigree verification, the application will also provide an option to upload an image of a DNA pedigree verification certificate as preferred pedigree verification.

Other Registries' Covering Certificates

 If a TCR digital covering certificate was not generated for the foal, the application will also provide an option to upload another registry's covering certificate.​

Digital covering certificates

A TCR digital covering certificate is a digital record of a covering that is generated online (FOR FREE) by the TCR-recorded owner of a TCR-registered stallion. When a TCR digital covering certificate is generated by the TCR-recorded owner of a TCR-registered stallion, the TCR-recorded owner can share the digital covering certificate online.

​Digital covering certificates

​When the owner the foal produced from the stallion and mare named on a generated TCR digital covering certificate is completing the online TCR registration application for the foal then as soon as the stallion and mare (sire and dam) are added (named) on the foal's online TCR registration application a message will be displayed saying that a digital covering certificate has been generated which is sufficient pedigree verification.

Optional DNA Pedigree Verification

Although the foal's online registration application will automatically display a message saying that the generated covering certificate is sufficient pedigree verification, the application will also provide an option to upload an image of a DNA laboratory pedigree verification report as preferred pedigree verification.

Our online covering certificates are free digital covering records that are generated by the recorded owners of stallions that are registered with us.

​Other registry covering certificates

​As part of the TCR services, TCR also accepts covering certificates issued by other registries.
