Traditional Cob Pedigrees

From the time the Traditional Cob breed was created by the Traveller / Gypsy community of Ireland and the UK their lineages have been passed down verbally from generation to generation within the Traveller / Gypsy community. Although Traditional Cob lineages are still passed down verbally from generation to generation within the Traveller / Gypsy community since the 1990s many Traditional Cob registries and studbooks have been established worldwide outside of the Traveller / Gypsy community.

TCR Pedigrees

TCR pedigrees not only show parents, grand-parents, great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents that are registered with TCR they also show parents, grand-parents, great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents that are registered with another Traditional Cob registry or studbook if they have been uploaded to the TCR database for TCR pedigree recording purposes. Parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents that are registered another Traditional Cob registry or studbook and that have been uploaded to the TCR database for TCR pedigree recording purposes must be verified on the TCR database as recorded on the database of another Traditional Cob registry or studbook by an uploaded image of the pedigree page of the registration book or studbook passport issued by the other Traditional Cob registry or studbook.

Declaring pedigree

Because declaring pedigree is optional for the purpose of registering a Traditional Cob with TCR, declaring pedigree on the online TCR 'Register Cob' application in an optional additional part of the application. An online TCR 'Register Cob' application must therefore be submitted before pedigree can be added as an additional part of the application. When an online TCR 'Register Cob' application is submitted an 'Add Pedigree' button will therefore show thereby providing the option to add (declare) parents as an additional part of the application.

Pedigree recorded on the TCR database

To add (declare) parents as an additional part of an online TCR 'Register Cob' application click the 'Add Pedigree' button then click on one of parents to be added. You will then be asked to search each parent on the TCR database by entering their name, registration number or microchip number. If the parents are recorded on the TCR database then the parents and any grandparents, great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents that are also recorded on the TCR database will show on the TCR pedigree.

Pedigree not recorded on the TCR database

Parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents that are not recorded on the TCR database can be added to the TCR database for TCR pedigree recording purposes provided that they are registered with another Traditional Cob registry or studbook.
