Cob Grading Shows

TCR grades TCR recorded cobs at TCR grading shows. However, because TCR is a new Traditional Cob registry based in Ireland TCR grading shows can currently only be held in Ireland.

Grading classes

• Basic Class

When cobs (entire males, females and geldings) are registered with TCR they are automatically graded as Basic Class.

• Class 1

When TCR registered cobs (entire males, females and geldings) reach 12 months of age they are eligible for TCR grading with a view to being upgraded from Basic Class to Class 1.

• Champion

When TCR registered cobs (entire males and females) that have been upgraded to Class reach three years of age they are eligible to compete at TCR grading shows for the TCR grading class title Champion.

• Supreme Champion

TCR registered cobs (entire males only) that have been awarded the TCR grading class title Champion are eligible to compete at the annual TCR Championship grading show for the annual TCR grading class title Supreme Champion.

TCR registered cob's are graded according to the following criteria: -

• Condition & Turnout

• Breed Type

• Conformation

• Movement

Breeder Groups

TCR affiliates TCR approved breeder groups for the purposes of holding TCR grading shows. TCR affiliated breeder groups must use judges listed on the TCR panel of judges at any TCR grading shows they hold.
